Amigurumi Jellyfish Free Pattern

Jellyfish Head
Round 1: Leave a long tail (you will use this to sew on the keychain), then 6 SC in a magic circle.

Jellyfish Bottom/straight tentacles

Curly Middle Tentacles
Chain 20. In the second chain from the hook, SC INC. SC INC in each remaining chain. Once you reach the top, repeat 2 more times. Fasten off and leave a long tail. Sew the tops of the tentacles closer together and attach to the middle of the bottom tentacle piece.

Assembly
Stuff the head as well as you can (you might need to finish it a little bit more after sewing.) Place the tentacles inside the head, lined up right above the scallops, on the 11th row. Use pins to keep it in place. Using the long tail from the head, attach the bottom tentacles by sewing it neatly on. If you need to stuff it a little more, make sure to do so before you attach it completely.

¾ cup Poly pellets (these are used to weigh down the body so it can sit on the shelf)

The poly pellets are optional, but the do provide a lot of stability. I poured mine into mismatched socks and tied it up, like a bean bag. You can also use a sandwich bag or if you feel like your stitches are tight enough, just pour them into the body. I was more worried about my boys playing rough with them and the pellets working out, so I used the sock.

Say No to Wobbly Heads!
For this pattern, the legs, body and head are all one piece. That helps with the wobble, but there are few extra steps that make a big difference. First, make sure you are stuffing really well. You always need more than you think. Keep in mind that it will “deflate” for lack of a better term, over time. Make sure the body is packed, the neck is stuffed VERY well, and the head is too. On the other hand, if you over stuff the stitches will stretch and you can see the stuffing. Obviously stop before you get to that point.
You can also add something to the neck. My newest and most favorite way is to use a foam hair roller. Yes, the kind that is used to curl hair! I get 6 for $1 at the Dollar Tree. They are the smaller, skinnier kind.Just stick them through the neck and stuff as well as you can around it. I needed to bend mine over because it was a little too big but it was no problem! This is by far the sturdiest I have ever seen my doll heads.
You can also crochet a tube. For this doll, because the neck is 12 stitches around, SC 11 in a magic circle. SC around until you reach about 20 rows (stuffing as you go) and then decrease and sew it shut. You will want to make sure that it is very firmly packed. Stuff it down the neck. Fill around with stuffing as well. (see I told you stuffing was important!)

1.1 ch, in the same loop: 5 sc, skip 60 loops, 5 sc on

last 5 stitches, create a circle = (10) Knit on these 10 stitches.

2-6. 10 sc = (10)

7. (1 dec, 3 sc) x2 = (8)

8. (1 dec, 2 sc) x2 = (6) Cut the thread. Hide the end.

FEATURE 3:

Attach the thread to the first skipped loop from Pen 2.

5. (1 dec, 3 sc) x2 = (8)

6. (1 dec, 2 sc) x2 = (6) Cut the thread. Hide end

Feathers on the opposite side:

For the other side of the wings attach the yarn directly

to the 41st loop of the 4th row of wings. Starting from this loop, repeat

rows of feather 1. 2. and 3 are mirrored.

Fix the wings not only on the dress, but also on the body.

ONION:

Cut 17 cm of wire (2.5 mm thick). Of golden or

yellow yarn:

1.6 SC into magic ring

2-6 sc

Repeat 2 row until completely tie the wire. Fill in the wire, than pull together the leftover sts.

Give the shape of the bow, as in the photo.

Make a jute tita or yarn.

A HEART:

2 pcs.

1.2 ch, in the 2nd loop from the hook, 2 sc, 1 ch, turn = (2)

2.2 inc, 1 ch, turn = (4)

3.1 inc, 2 sc, 1 inc, 1 ch, turn = (6)

4. 1 inc, 4 sc, 1 inc, 1 ch, turn = (8)

5. into the 2nd loop from the hook 5 dc, skip 1 loop, sl-st into the next loop, skip 1 loop, 5 dc, sl-st into the last loop. To close. On the first heart, cut the thread, on the second leave a long thread for sewing. (See photo below)

Sew hearts together, insert a 10 cm skewer. You can use glue.

Using a knife, make a tiny cut at the free end of the stick and insert it into the jute rope.

Attach the bow to the doll, as in the photo.
