Fold the edges and single crochet them. Cut the yarn leaving a long tail for assembly.

ARMS for GIRL:
Start working with main color yarn – Grey.

R1: 6 sc in magic ring
R2: 6 inc (12)
R3-5: 12 sc (3 rounds)
Change yarn color to Pink
R6-12: 12 sc (15 rounds)
Stuff about to 7th round. Fold the edges and single crochet them. Cut the yarn leaving a long tail for assembly.

First we’ll sew head to the body.
Place it right in the center. Secure last row (35th) of the body to the 21st row of the head with pins. These rows have 18 stitches each that’s why it will be easier to sew details together at that level.
Sew details by taking loops of the body first, then head, alternately. When we have small hole left, stuff the area between head and body tight enough, so our head don’t hang out. Then sew details to the end. Hide yarn tail inside the head pulling it couple times back and forward.
Sew arms.
Place arms on the sides of the body. Secure them with pins and sew to the body.
Hide yarn tail inside the body pulling it couple times back and forward.
Then sew elephant’s trunk previously securing it with the pins. It should be right in the middle of the head.
Fold ears in half before sewing and stitch them with 2-3 stitches. Then pin them on the sides of the head. Make sure they are on the same level and on the same distanse from the center of the head. Sew them to the head.
Start to design elephant’s muzzle Take black sewing thread and beads for eyes. Choose the location for the eyes and sew them. I sewed eyes approx. between rounds 14-15. Embroider eyebrows, lashes and stripes on the trunk.

Cone cap start to crochet with pompon:
R1: 6 sc in magic ring
R2: 6 inc (12)
R3-4: 12 sc
R5: 6 dec

Change yarn color
R6: (1 sc, inc)x 3 (9)
R7: 9 sc
R8: (2 sc, inc)x 3 (12)
R9: 12 sc
R10: (3 sc, inc)x 3 (15)
R11: 15 sc
R12: (4 sc, inc)x3 (18)
R13: 18 sc

Finish decoration of the GIRL:
Skirt:
In those rounds crocheted on the back loop crochet 2 skirts around. For upper skirt use pink yarn, for bottom one any other color you like (I used light blue). Both skirts are crocheted similarly:

R1: Ch 3, 2 dc in each stitch, sl st in the end (72)
R2: Ch 3, 72 dc, sl st in the end (72)
R3: Ch 1, 72 sc, sl st in the end (72)
Decorate dress with buttons. I also sewed crochet bow on girl’s head. You can decorate your elephant in any way you like.
Now we need to rosy cheeks. Take dry pastel, brush, sheet of paper and knife or scissors. Shred little bit of pastel on the paper. Take brush and dunk it in the pastel. Apply blush on the cheeks.

Finish decoration of the BOY:
In R24 of the body crocheted on the back loop we’ll finish to crochet boy’s pants: Ch 1, sc 36 st using the remaining front loops, sl st in the end to join.
Then we’ll crochet 2 straps. Don’t crochet them separately. Choose the place on the back on the top part of the pants that we crocheted in previous step. Make a chain of 30 in my case. Yours may vary depending on the yarn you use. Join strap with the top of the pants in front. Crochet second strap same way.
Hide yarn tails inside of the body.
Decorate pants with buttons.
